Mt Rushmore

Mt. Rushmore is cut into a granite cliff in the Black Hills of SD, which are really pretty on their own. The sculpture is extremely impressive, but certainly a strange concept. Also, there's a multi-story parking garage (fee: $10) on the hillside below the monument, which is also a strange sight in the wilderness.
Looking up Washington's nose.
Typical tourist trap/fake frontier town near any given major attraction in this part of the country.
